Les Amours Imaginaires is the new film by Xavier Dolan.

Yesterday I visited OUT OF FASHION – an exhibition taking place during the 40th International Film Festival in Rotterdam (26 Jan – 6 Feb) presented at Roodkapje, a temporary exhibition space in Rotterdam.

The exhibition presents the creation process of a number of fashion films included in the IFFR fashion program, and shows the inspiring relationship between fashion and cinema. On display: a film installation created especially for IFFR by Maison Martin Margiela, original sketches by Rodarte for Black Swan, a storyboard and still photographs from the film Aanteni by Todd Cole and Rodarte, and more films from agnès b. and BLESS.

Out of all the Gareth Pugh and Ruth Hogben collaborations, this most recent one is my favourite.

With a collection inspired by religious iconography and Florentine opulence, Gareth Pugh made his Italian fashion debut at Pitti Immagine #79, showcasing his clothes via a unique fashion film, created with Ruth Hogben.

“Fourteen Actors Acting: A Video Gallery of Classic Screen Types.” – interesting performances by Tilda Swinton, Noomi Rapace, Javier Bardem, among others. Directed by fashion photographer Solve Sundsbo. Produced by The New York Times Magazine.

Day For Night is a new fashion film presenting the Vanessa Bruno autumn/winter 2010-11 collection. Directed by Stéphanie Di Giusto. With Lou Doillon and Valentine Fillol Cordier. Sensual and poetic.

I Am Love (Io sono l’amore) is an Italian drama about love, passion, and family, directed by Luca Guadagnino. Starring Tilda Swinton, who is also one of the film’s producers.

The film is released in the UK on April 9, and in the U.S. in June. I can’t wait to see it.
