Amazing video by Pierre Debusschere presents Irina Shaposhnikova’s designs in a fresh and beautiful way. Crystallographica is Shaposhnikova’s 2009 graduate collection at the Fashion Department of Royal Academy of Fine Arts, in Antwerp. This stunning collection is modern and unconventional.
Irina’s profile appeared in the Wallpaper magazine’s Graduate Directory 2010 – and she says: “My graduate collection was inspired by the geological formation of crystals and minerals. It explores the link between their geometry and the female form to create new shapes.”

Foam_Fotografiemuseum in Amsterdam presents Alexander Rodchenko – Revolution in Photography – a wonderful retrospective of the Russian avant-garde artist Alexander Rodchenko (1891-1956). The exhibition shows over 200 photographs. Definitely worth a visit. At Foam until March 17th, 2010.
“Tracking the development of his photographic work over the course of two decades, Revolution in Photography reveals the artist’s talent for experimentation as well as the extraordinary range of his work. From sharp-witted photomontage to documentary reportage in Moscow’s streets, from dynamic architectural studies to intimate portraits of his circle, Rodchenko’s photographic activity possessed a breath and scope matched by few artists of his day.”

(untitled) – the very first fragrance from Maison Martin Margiela – sounds and looks like the quintessence of the Margiela philosophy. The elegance and simplicity of the bottle design say it all. Pure beauty. And it seems that the scent will be at least just as good.
The long-awaited fragrance marks the beginning of Margiela’s Line 3, dedicated to perfumes. (untitled) will debut at Colette in Paris on January 25, in a world-exclusive preview.
The bottle design is a collaborative effort between Martin Margiela and creative director Fabien Baron.
“Everyone can feel called into question by a colour, a shape or a garment… We wanted to give perfume the same chance. Stripped of any reference to an influence of precise climate, (untitled) can be interpreted and worn for all occasion by every one of us.” - Maison Martin Margiela.
