“Colenso worked with Andersen M Studios in London to develop a concept that would show Maurice Gee’s classic novel, Going West, coming to life through hand cut ‘pop up’ scenery springing up from the pages.
What resulted was eight months of hard work and intricate paper cutting to create the two minute film.
Co-founder of Andersen M Studios, Martin Andersen, says ‘everything [in the film] is made by hand. The piece is a result of plenty of scalpel blades, paper and a lot of preparation and patience.”

Andel’s Hotel in Lodz, Poland, is a great example of what makes modern architecture remarkable.
A beautiful structure combining brickwork, industrial heritage, and futuristic interiors recently won the European Hotel Design Award 2009, Architecture of the Year – Conversion of an Existing Building to Hotel Use category, for adapting the derelict historic spinning mill built in 1878 into a hotel. The hotel has been awarded multiple design awards.
A true gem in the city of Lodz which has been famous for its once booming textile industry, the National Film School in Lodz (the School has three Oscar-winning alumni: Roman Polanski, Andrzej Wajda and Zbigniew Rybczynski), and now for the Camerimage festival.
The hotel was designed by OP Architekten, interiors by Jestico + Whiles.
Contemplating the city landscape, moments in time, and sounds of Berlin. 21 years after filming Cycling the Frame, Tilda Swinton and director Cynthia Beatt reunite to retrace the line of the Berlin Wall.
The Invisible Frameis a little masterpiece. Beautiful cinematography, poetic narrative, and music, create an unforgettable aura. The Auteurs is currently showing The Invisible Frame for free.
“The stagnation of organic growth that characterized the areas separated by the Wall, is now replaced by unchecked nature and building development. The rhythmic interaction of fixed camera and tracking shots combine in a vibrant orbiting of Berlin, visually intertwining west and east.”
Just brilliant. I may have finally found the perfect pair of jeans. Norwegian design office Anti created their own brand – Anti Sweden – made out of love for fashion and graphic design, embracing the darkness. A challenge facing Swedish jeans brands like Cheap Monday or Acne.
Superb design, remarkable details, and a strong attitude make Anti Sweden stand out in the jeans crowd.
And, in their own words, Anti Sweden is Black Metal going fashion.
